The Colorado Rockies fired hitting coach Hensley Meulens (57) on Thursday after a horrific start to the season for the league's worst team.

Former Rockies manager Clint Hurdle will return to the team as the new hitting coach.

Meulens has been a part of the team since 2023 and was the hitting coach for the San Francisco Giants when they won multiple World Series in 2020, 2012, and 2014.

Colorado is currently ranked 21st in batting average (.220), 25th in on-base percentage (.285), 24th in slugging percentage (.344), tied for 29th in home runs (12), and are dead last in runs scored with 52.

The Rockies are currently on a six-game losing streak and possess the worst record in the league at 3-15.

Just recently, the team set a new franchise record of 32 consecutive innings without scoring a single run.

They will start their three-game series with the Washington Nationals on Thursday, a team that's also struggling to hit the ball this year.
