The Baltimore Orioles came into Opening Day with a mission as they hit an Opening Day franchise record six home runs against the Toronto Blue Jays on Thursday.

Baltimore took home a 12-2 win over the division rival Toronto Blue Jays thanks to fantastic pitching and even better hitting.

Orioles starting pitcher Zach Eflin got the win in his first start of the season after going 6 innings, giving up just two runs on two hits with one walk and two strikeouts.

Seranthony Dominguez, Keegan Akin, and Bryan Baker threw a combined three-inning shutout of relief to wrap up the win.

But the highlights for the O's came from their bats.

Things got starting in the very first inning after catcher Adley Rutschman cranked one to deep right field.

Just two innings later, newly signed outfielder Tyler O'Neill crushed one to the same side in what is now the league record six straight Opening Days in which he hits a home run.

He went 3-3 with a home run, three RBI, two singles, and two walks.

Center fielder Cedric Mullins followed up with a home run of his own in the fourth inning, which would be his first of two on the day.

It wasn't until the seventh inning when Mullins sent another one out of the park.

The veteran finished the game 3-5 with two home runs and five RBI.

Rutchman came back with an even bigger bomb than last time for his second on the day.

The star catcher finished the game going 3-5 with two home runs, three RBI, a single, and a strikeout.

Then infielder Jordan Westburg got in on the action and sent one deep himself to put the Orioles up 12-2.

He finished the game going 2-4 with a home run, single, one RBI, one walk, and one strikeout.

The Orioles put up a total of 14 hits to the Blue Jays' measly four as they take Game 1 of the four-game series to open up the season.

Game two between the O's and Jays will take place on March 28th at 7:07 p.m. Eastern time.
