Kansas City, the team who made the last three Super Bowls, have chosen Spain to have marketing rights in. This could bring a Missouri game to the country.

Spanish NFL fans are in luck: Patrick Mahomes' Kansas City Chiefs join the Miami Dolphins and Chicago Bears as franchises with priority to exploit their marketing rights in Spain.

This move is part of the NFL's Global Markets Programme and comes as a result of the Missouri Chiefs' intention to play a game in Spain in the not too distant future. Perhaps their quarterback has had something to do with it, as he fell in love with Marbella when he was there on holiday.

The Chiefs' fan base in Spain has grown exponentially in recent years thanks to their enormous sporting success (three titles since 2020). With those figures in hand, the team has decided to add its presence in this country to the one it already had in Austria, Switzerland, Mexico and Germany.

A lot to look forward to

"The Chiefs are a fantastic addition to the Global Markets Programme in Spain," said NFL Director of Europe and Asia-Pacific Brett Gosper.

"With our first-ever regular season game in Madrid in 2025, we continue to prioritise our commitment to the market and growing our fan base. The Chiefs are a storied NFL franchise with big international ambitions and we are delighted that they will have a presence in Spain alongside the Bears and Dolphins," he added.

The franchise also expressed its happiness with the news: "We are thrilled to help bring the NFL and American football to Spain, starting as early as 2025," said Kansas City Chiefs president and CEO Clark Hunt.

"When my father, Lamar, founded the AFL, one of his goals was to introduce professional football to fans in new markets and share his love of the sport with fans across the country.

"We have never lost sight of that goal and are excited to continue his legacy by bringing American football and the Kansas City Chiefs to a new region like Spain,"
