Colorado two-way star and reigning Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter (21) had to register as a singular position for the NFL Scouting Combine on Thursday per rules and decided to go with defensive back.

Hunter is a wide receiver-defensive back dual threat who is looking for any team that drafts him to let him continue in both roles at the professional level.

"They say nobody has ever done it for real the way I do it," said Hunter on Thursday. "I tell them I'm just different. I'm just a different person."

Hunter declined to reveal which teams he met with on Thursday, even responding with "next question" any time a reporter asked about the topic.

Hunter is a projected top 10 pick in the upcoming NFL Draft in April with most having him going top five and a lot saying he won't slip outside the top three picks.

But Hunter thinks he can go first overall.

"It should be important," Hunter said. "It was one of my dreams, to go No. 1, and to be the best I can be."

"We were watching him, and I don't know if there's anybody who has ever done what he's done in the modern day football, playing both offense and defense during the course of the season," said Tennessee Titans General Manager Mike Borgonzi. "He's definitely a special player."

The 2025 NFL Draft will take place in Green Bay, Wisconsin from April 24th to April 26th.
