The Chicago Bears hired Declan Doyle (28) as their new offensive coordinator and Dennis Allen (52) as the defensive coordinator on Sunday night, according to ESPN and NFL Network.

The two hirings start the first of many under the newly hired head coach Ben Johnson's (38) regime. Richard Hightower was also brought on board as the new special teams coordinator.

Allen was 2-7 as the head coach of the New Orleans Saints last season before being fired. He spent the previous 11 years as a head coach (2022-2024), defensive coordinator (2016-2021), senior defensive assistant coach and interim defensive coordinator (2015).

Allen was previously with the Oakland Raiders (2012-2014) where he was also fired mid-season in his third year as a head coach, leaving them with an overall record of 8-28.

Doyle himself spent some time in New Orleans (2019-2022) as an offensive assistant before being hired by the Denver Broncos, where he spent the previous two seasons as their tight ends coach. This will mark Doyle's first offensive coordinator job.

Chicago had the 27th-ranked defence and the 32nd-ranked offence this past season so it's no surprise that a clean sweep of the coaching staff is under way.
