Buffalo Bills cornerback Maxwell Hairston (21) sprained his lateral collateral ligament (LCL) during camp on Wednesday, according to multiple reports.

The 2025 first-round pick for the Bills was feared to have possibly torn his ACL, but tests showed that Hairston had no tears or significant damage. The injury was non-contact and Hairston left the field with the team's head trainer.

Hairston has been a topic of discussion heading into the season. The rookie has turned heads at training camp, making stellar play after stellar play as he aims to be the future No. 1 cornerback for the reigning AFC East champion Bills.

Hairston posted the fastest 40-yard dash time (4.28) at the NFL Combine and made headway during the Draft after he went viral for congratulating every player that got drafted before him in the first round.

Now, the rookie out of Kentucky will look to recover in time for the team's regular-season opener against the Baltimore Ravens on September 7th.
