The Baltimore Ravens have claimed wide receiver and return specialist Steven Sims Jr. (27) off waivers ahead of their Christmas Day matchup against the Houston Texans.

The Ravens and Texans basically swapped receivers off of the waiver wire after Houston claimed Diontae Johnson on the same day.

Sims Jr. returned a punt for a touchdown during the Ravens-Texans playoff matchup last season and will hopefully look to bolster a Baltimore punt return team that has been having troubles.

Sims Jr. has 16 punt returns for 99 yards this season with seven kick returns for 195 yards. The six-year veteran hasn't seen a single target as a receiver this year for Houston.

Don't expect much receiver output from Sims Jr. on the Ravens but he could definitely see some reps right away for special teams, especially on kick returns considering runningback Justice Hill is currently dealing with a concussion.

Sims Jr. will now be playing for his fourth team in six years and will be an unrestricted free agent after the season.
