Missouri quarterback Sam Horn will be out for an extended period of time after sustaining a significant knee injury on the first snap of Friday's game against Central Arkansas.

Horn was seen sporting crutches and a knee brace on the sideline following the injury. He underwent an MRI the same day as the team is awaiting the results.

Horn was recently drafted in the 17th round by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2025 MLB Draft after playing for the Missouri baseball team. Even though Horn did sign with the Dodgers, he elected to continue with his football career at Missouri.

Horn missed last year's football season after receiving Tommy John surgery. The former redshirt Junior has only thrown eight passes in his entire collegiate career, but one of them was for a touchdown.

Beau Pribula, who finished the game completing 23-of-28 passes with 348 total yards (283 passing) and four total touchdowns (two passing), is now the bonafied starting quarterback for the foreseeable future.

Missouri went on to win 61-6 and will now collect themselves for their next game against Kansas on September 6th.

Pribula and Horn were both set to see time during Friday's action regardless of who started the game.

Head Coach Eliah Drinkwitz said prior to the season opener, "I informed the team this afternoon that both quarterbacks will play in the first game. I want to see them in a game-day situation to make a final determination."
