Georgia will be without their starting quarterback for the team's upcoming quarter-finals CFP matchup in which they will either face seventh seed Notre Dame or 10th seed Indiana.
Beck recently left the SEC title game against Texas with a UCL (elbow) in his throwing shoulder and has not returned to practice since. He's currently in his second season as Georgia's quarterback and has thrown for 3,485 yards, 28 touchdowns and 12 interceptions this year.
Backup quarterback Gunner Stockton is now in line to start the big game for the Bulldogs. Stockton has played in three games for Georgia this season, including the SEC title win over a number-two nationally ranked Texas team 22-19, throwing 12 of 16 for 71 yards and one interception.
Stockton's other two appearances this season came in garbage time against U-MASS and Tennessee Tech, in which he had a combined 13 of 16 passing for 135 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions.
There's no telling if Beck would be ready if the Bulldogs make it to the semifinals if they're able to make it pass Notre Dame or Indiana.
