Both of Rutschman's home runs came off starting pitcher and former teammate Brandon Young to bring his season total to 11.
Rutschman, 28, was greeted with a standing ovation before his first home run earlier in the top of the first inning. Both home runs landed in almost the exact same spot next to the right field wall.
He's now slashing a brutal .196/.274/.375 with three home runs for Boston since being traded.
In the deal with the Sox, the Orioles received catcher Carlos Narvaez, Red Sox No. 2 prospect Anthony Eyanson (RHP, Double-A), No. 4 prospect Kyson Witherspoon (RHP, High-A), and No. 5 prospect Enddy Azocar (OF, High-A).
It marked the biggest trade between the division rivals since 2014, when the Orioles traded for relief pitcher Andrew Miller.
Rutschman is one of the most coveted catchers in the league. The three-time All-Star switch-hitter is slashing .241/.321/.422 between both the O's and Red Sox in an injury-riddled season.
Unless Rutchman plays in all 22 of the remaining Red Sox games this season, he will go back-to-back years without reaching 100.
