SDNA says that the players have not been able to live up to huge expectations that rose on the back of the very promising start to the World Cup campaign when Greece won 5-1 at home against Belarus.
Some of the young players in the team, like Konstantinos Karetsas, Christos Mouzakitis, Konstantinos Tzolakis, and Giannis Konstantelias, were heavily criticized for their performance against Denmark, but against Scotland, even experienced players like Dimitrios Kourbelis, Konstantinos Tsimikas, Anastasios Bakasetas, and Vangelis Pavlidis weren't able to provide the goods when push came to shove.
The Greek football site also writes that the Serbian coach Ivan Jovanovic needs to step up and has been too content with little progress in the national team in the past:
"Jovanovic needs to finally show that he can go beyond the ordinary. It is not enough to be a good coach, a likeable person and "teacher", it is not enough that the international players trust him. He also has to do away with those who say he has low ambitions. He must finally take chances, show greater courage, and, above all, believe in himself", says SDNA.
The game between Denmark and Greece will be played in the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen and starts at 20.45 CET.
