After Friday's showpiece in Washington DC to draw the groups for next year's World Cup, attention turns back to club football across Europe - follow all of it with Flashscore.

16:20 CET - Bayern Munich lead at the break thanks to a goal from Konrad Laimer, but they haven't had things all their own way, with Stuttgart the better team and only being denied an equaliser by VAR.

15:45 CET - Can Man City and Chelsea take advantage of Arsenal's defeat and close the gap at the top of the table? With the impressive Sunderland the former's opponents and the latter away to Bournemouth, it's by no means a certainty.

These are the lineups for those matches, which kick off in 15 minutes:

15:40 CET - Today's Bundesliga action is underway over in Germany, where Bayer Leverkusen are currently trailing Augsburg and Bayern Munich are being held by Stuttgart.

15:28 CET - What a performance that was from Aston Villa. They more than held their own against the league leaders and are now second themselves, just three points off top.

Manchester City will move within two points of Arsenal if they beat Sunderland this afternoon. This title fight is very much alive.

15:23 CET - ASTON VILLA WIN IT AT THE DEATH!

Emiliano Buendia has come off the bench and scored with one of the last kicks of the game to give his side a huge victory!

15:13 CEt - It's turned into a real thriller at Villa Park, with both sides coming close to taking the lead in an end-to-end affair.

With five minutes left, can either side find a winner?

14:56 CET - Villarreal lead Getafe at the break thanks to a stoppage-time goal from Tajon Buchanan.

14:38 CET - Arsenal level things up! The Gunners have made an excellent start to the second half and their reward is a goal from super-sub Leandro Trossard, who has scored with just his eighth touch of the day.

Only against Liverpool (8) and Wolves (8) has Trossard been involved in more Premier League goals against a side than Aston Villa (5).

14:21 CET - It's half-time in Birmingham, where Aston Villa lead Arsenal 1-0, and they could be further ahead too thanks to an excellent performance.

14:10 CET - Aston Villa take the lead! They've gone ahead through Matty Cash, who finished off a lovely team move, and they very much deserve their goal. In fact, they're now pushing for a second.

The Premier League leaders are seriously struggling.

13:40 CET - Today's Premier League action is underway! The hosts have made a steady start at Villa Park, controlling possession in the opening 10 minutes and almost opening the scoring through Ollie Watkins.

12:54 CET - Over in LaLiga, Villarreal and Getafe get today's proceedings going from 14:00 CET.

The 'Yellow Submarine' are one of the league's in-form sides, winning each of their last five games and losing just one of their last 10. Another victory would put them just two points off top.

Today's test will be tough though with Getafe also performing well this season.

Top of the league, but coming off a 2-0 win against Brentford, Arsenal are favourites for the clash, and they have a good recent record against Villa, winning five of their last eight clashes.

There are seven games in the English top flight today, one more than the total for Saturday's Bundesliga fixtures. The headline attraction from Germany today sees Bayern Munich face a tough trip to Stuttgart from 15:30 CET.

The Bavarians are still unbeaten in the league this season, with 11 wins and one draw, but today's opponents have been in sensational form at home since August, winning their opening five home games to start a season for the first time since the 1992/93 campaign.

Elsewhere, Inter and Como do battle in Serie later this evening, whilst both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid take to the field in LaLiga as they look to keep up their title ambitions.

But the big news of the day is that World Cup draw from yesterday. If you haven't caught up with it just yet, we have you covered right here.
