The Los Angeles Angels traded outfielder Jo Adell to the Cleveland Guardians ahead of Monday's deadline in exchange for catcher Jacob Cozart.

Adell, 27, is slashing .239/.287/.395 this season with 16 home runs and 62 RBI. The seven-year vet is coming off a 2025 campaign in which he hit a career-high 37 home runs with 98 RBI.

Cozart, 23, is the Guardians' No. 18 prospect. The catcher is slashing .239/.330/.384 with 10 home runs and 44 RBI in 79 games at the Double-A level this season.

Adell has spent his entire career with the Angels after making his debut in 2020. After a few rough seasons, Adell finally found his stride in 2024 when he broke out with a 20-home-run season with 62 RBI and 15 stolen bases before putting up career numbers in 2025.

He's also been making headlines with his glove. Earlier in the season, Adell caught the MLB world by storm when he robbed three home runs in a single game.

The Guardians are in the midst of an AL Central pennant race as they sit three games behind the Chicago White Sox for first place with a 57-56 record.

Los Angeles, on the other hand, is continuing on with another rebuild. Other trades they've made so far this deadline include Jose Soriano to the Blue Jays and another sending Chase Silseth and Logan O'Hoppe to the Rangers.
